Located on Silver Lake, a spring feed lake whose deepest point is 65 feet, 1 km from Rocky Crest Golf Course. This large Viceroy lake house is on a quiet family friendly bay and comes with many water toys! There are two entrances, one on the lower level and another at the rear enters into the Main Floor level which features a Family/Media Room with breathtaking views of the lake through massive windows with 24 foot cathedral ceilings. Open concept Kitchen with modern appliances, wine fridge. The large indoor dining area gathered around hand-made wooden table seats up 9 people comfortably. From the kitchen there is a walkout to the balcony with a shade structure for comfortable outdoor dining overlooking the lake. A washroom and laundry are available on this level as well. 3 separate living areas make this cottage ideal for 2 families or a multi-generational gathering. On the lower level there is a guest bedroom set up hotel style with one double bed and can sleep 2 people. There is also a 3 pc washroom on this level. The recreation room has a wood burning stove and games area with ping pong table, dart boards etc. On the Main Floor there is a huge Family/Media Room with breathtaking views of the lake through massive windows plus 24 foot cathedral ceilings, a 4 piece washroom, plus two guest bedrooms each with 2 twin beds . The open concept Kitchen has modern stainless steel appliances plus a large indoor dining area gathered around hand-made wooden table that seats up to 9. From the kitchen walk out to the balcony with a shade structure for comfortable outdoor dining overlooking the lake. On the upper level the master features a Queen bed plus a Sofa bed and a 4 piece washroom.

The cottage comes with 2 x 3 person canoes as well as a sit upon kayak and 4 adult life jackets. There is also a billiard table for your use. Power boats are not possible at this property as there is no public launch.

Please review our 2024 Code of Conduct & House Rules:
All potential guests must complete a rental application where you will be asked to provide a full guest list, ages of all guests, the name, address & employer of the primary applicant as well as your home insurance policy details as your third party liability travels with you when you rent. The primary guest must be 30 years of age or older to book. No reservation is confirmed until approved by MDR. The application will form the basis of your short-term lease agreement with MDR and you understand and agree that you will abide by the terms therein.
Rates are subject to change until your reservation is confirmed. Linen, beach & bath towels included.
If Pets are permitted at this rental, this will be limited to 2 small or one large dog, no other types of animals and will be solely based on the discretion of the owner and you will be asked to sign a pet waiver and possibly to pay an additional pet cleaning fee. Wet pets are not permitted inside. Pets are not permitted on the furniture at any time.
No smoking, electronic or otherwise, inside the cottage. If you do smoke outside, you must NOT flick ash or butts on the ground as these represent a fire hazard.
Open fires in the fire pit only please & check burn restrictions for the area before you arrive.
Fireworks are NOT permitted.
Please leave the property as you found it, tidy and with all garbage disposed of per the welcome letter.
Note there may be a garbage removal fee of as much as $500 per week. Professional cleaners will prepare the cottage for your arrival using Covid19 cleaning protocols. If you paid a cleaning fee, a check out cleaning will be scheduled, otherwise you can request a check out clean for a fee. You are expected to leave the cottage as you found it, tidy and in good repair.
WIFI is available at all of our cottages (unless specifically noted).
INDEMNIFICATION: You indemnify the owners of the rental property, their heirs and also their agent Muskoka District Rentals for any and all damage or injury that may occur either prior to, during or after your stay. Further, you acknowledge that Snowmobiling, Boating and all water sports are inherently dangerous.Please make sure you wear proper lifejackets at all times on the water and note these may not be provided for you at the rental property.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: I/we represent, warrant, acknowledge and agree that I/we will use the cottage and its facilities in accordance with the booking agreement and the household rules and I/we do so at our own risk and that I/we indemnify and save Muskoka District Rentals, Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, all employees of aforementioned companies, the property owner and their heirs harmless from any personal injury, sickness or death, loss or damage, however caused to person or property of the Renter, his/her family, or guests before, during or after the time of occupancy. Further, I/we accept full responsibility for the risk to personal health of renting property owned and occupied by unrelated persons during the Covid19 Pandemic.
To ensure the quiet enjoyment of the lake by our neighbours, music or loud noise of any kind is not permitted after 10pm or before 8am.
Resort Fee: For a one-time fee of $99.00, the Accidental Damage Limited Waiver of Liability will waive a claim against the Guest for the cost to repair or replace any accidental damage taking place at the property during the rental period for up to a total of $3,000.00 in damages. The Accidental Damage Limited Waiver of Liability only applies to accidental damage as determined by Muskoka District Rentals. A damage deposit will still be required for casual damages, internet overage charges, extra cleaning charges, garbage disposal, pet cleanup, etc. The Accidental Damage Limited Waiver is not Insurance.

Beautiful stay!
This was a beautiful cottage. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. The cottage was clean and spacious. It felt like we were on our own private island it was so peaceful. The cottage had everything. My family and I created the best memories here. We are so happy, can’t wait to come back.

Quiet Lake Getaway!
Overall, this was a very well-appointed cottage. Surprising how many amenities were provided (e.g., toilet paper, spices, hand soap, etc…). The cottage itself was huge and even on the rainy day, we (all 11 of us and a dog) did not feel cramped in any way. The kids loved the ping pong and foosball. There were plenty of board games, card and soooo many books and magazines. It felt like we were staying in a friend’s cottage with all the personal touches. The kayaks and canoes were great and were used daily. Fishing from the dock was fun and many fish were caught (and released). The only issue with the water area we had was the shallowness and many trees logs in the water near the dock did not allow actual jumping or swimming near the cottage. The kids went out into more open water to swim. People with young children shouldn’t have that issue though as the beach area was nice with a nice shallow entry for little ones. The cottage was in a private area with neighbours a good distance away. However, it was close (10 min) drive to MacTier for groceries or a bit further into Perry Sound. We all had a very enjoyable stay at Winsome Silver Lake!

PERFECT COTTAGE!
Amazing getaway with the family! Getting our large family together is always a special occasion, but enjoying it at Winsome Silver Lake was special. The cottage is beautiful, spectacular, and very well equipped. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything you could possible need. The high ceiling and big windows made the view of the lake be appreciated by all. Overall, amazing place and team. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable. We’ll definitely be back again!!

I had a great stay and I would absolutely recommend this place. The space is gorgeous – photos do not do it justice, extremely clean and spacious. Our family of 8 adults, 1 large dog and a toddler fit perfectly. Tons of things included. Though it is encouraged to bring your own items, the cottage did have some things so if you forgot anything, chances are they would have had it for you to use anyway. It is obvious that lots of love goes into this space and there were several thoughtful touches. We would absolutely go back to this cottage again. Thank you for a great Family Day weekend away!

So many activities at this cottage! Had the best time here!
It’s a really beautiful cottage for a large group of friends or family. The living room is unique and stylishly decorated with high ceiling. We have much space and many choices of activities that are provided in the cottage, including foosball, pingpong, BBQ, kayaks and canoes. Also, we enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view of lake. And it’s better to arrive at the place before getting dark, otherwise it’s hard to figure out the way.

“This is a great place for a family vacation. The cottage is stylishly decorated and has a lot of space. The internet connection is slow, but it gives you an opportunity to have a digital detox ( which I personally really enjoyed). Great cottage for large group
Great cottage for a large group of friends and family. The basement was filled with activities to keep people busy, and the living room was very large for everyone to hang out.

What a beautiful gem!!!
winsome is a beautiful gem. I have been to 10 different cottages in Ontario and Quebec and this is by far the most majestic. the cottage is built next to a wall of natural granite rock. the stair case leading to the cottage is carved from the rock. at the base of the wall the is a goldfish pool made from a natural stream. frogs like to hangout there too. inside the view of the sunrise from the Cathedral ceiling Hall is spiritual and therapeutic there are two 3 person canoes and two sit top kayaks in excellent condition the internet was flaky and we restarted the router a few times to get it working and that seemed to work for a while. make sure to be prepared for Internet withdrawal symptoms of your group 🙂 the basement is fully furnished. it has foosball, pingpong, darts, air hockey a severe thunderstorm hit the area during our stay and power lines were cut. everything in the house including tap water requires electricity so were worried. fortunately the power came on within 4 hours

Great Family Place!
Great family place to stay the accommodations were clean and there was lots of space for kids to play. The lake was nice the only issue we had was the water level was high because of all the rain, which meant part of the dock was below water when we stepped on it.

Silver Lake
I went to the Silver Lake Retreat cottage with the family for a weekend and what an amazing experience we had. This cottage has everything you want, beautiful architecture, an amazing location, fascinating scenery and is very well equipped with canoes, games, fishing supplies and more. The host replied to all my messages quickly which really facilitated the communication. I really recommend this place for big family multigathering who wish to have real quality time.

A fabulous stay in a wonderful property!
A fabulous stay in a wonderful property. Ross was excellent at providing feedback, and all the necessary details on how to find the property and gain entry. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Silver Lake Retreat. The instructions to find the house were very easy to follow and it was easy to find our way around the house. A nice letter welcoming us to the property was left, which also explained how to find things around the house and some hints and tips etc., The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with all utensils and cooking appliances that you could ever need. There is also good entertainment options within the lodge, including wifi if you need to go online. The views from the upper floor kitchen and living were utterly spectacular and seeing the various photographs of the construction of the property left you appreciating just how much work had gone into its construction. Our sons loved the basement come games room which was a great place for them to retreat to. I would happily stay again. The tranquility and views of the Silver Lake Retreat was amazing. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could ever need.
